How To Jailbreak PS4 12.02 Firmware

Hey everyone! Today, I’m showing you how to jailbreak your PS4 on firmware up to 12.02 using a new method with modified save files and supported games—mostly Japanese titles.

Steps:

Prepare Your PS4:
- Cancel any pending system updates.
- Disable internet connection and automatic downloads.
- Check your firmware; jailbreak works on 11.02 to 12.02 only.
Update Firmware (if needed):
- Download the 12.02 update from a trusted site.
- Format a USB drive to exFAT or FAT32.
- Create folders PS4/UPDATE on USB and place the update file there.
- Install the update on your PS4 via Settings.
Get the Modified Save File:
- You can restore a backup with the save or use a jailbroken PS4 or Discord save bots to get the modified save file.
- Copy and replace your game save with this modified save.
Prepare Payload on USB:
- Download the latest Gold Hen payload and rename it to payload.bin.
- Copy it to the root of an exFAT-formatted USB drive.
Run Jailbreak:
- Insert the USB and launch the supported Japanese game to trigger the modified save file.
- This will load Gold Hen from USB to your PS4.
Install Homebrew Apps & Games:
- Use the Gold Hen menu to install homebrew apps and fake packages (like Minecraft, Bloodborne).
- You can enable cheats, patches, and plugins via the PS4 Cheats Manager.
Internet & Updates:
- You can reconnect to the internet safely; Gold Hen blocks system updates automatically.
- Use the homebrew store to get more apps.
Re-running Jailbreak:
- This jailbreak is tethered, so after reboot, run the Japanese game again to reload the jailbreak.
- You can also use rest mode to keep it active without reloading.

How to Modify the Save File for PS4 Jailbreak

Create a Dummy Save:
- Launch the supported Japanese game on your PS4.
- Create a new save file inside the game (just a normal save).
Copy Save to USB:
- Plug in a USB drive formatted as exFAT or FAT32.
- Go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device.
- Select the game save you just created and copy it to the USB.
Download Jailbreak Save Data:
- From the GitHub repo or the link in the video description, download the jailbreak modified save files (usually zipped).
Decrypt Your Save:
- Upload your copied USB save folder to a Discord save bot (like PSBOT) as explained.
- Use the decrypt command (/deec) to get the decrypted save files back.
Replace with Jailbreak Save Files:
- On your computer, open both the decrypted save folder (your dummy save) and the jailbreak save folder.
- Copy all files from the jailbreak save folder into your decrypted save folder and overwrite existing files.
Encrypt the Modified Save:
- Upload the modified save folder back to the Discord save bot.
- Use the encrypt command (/encript or similar) to get an encrypted save that the PS4 will accept.
Copy Modified Save Back to USB:
- Download the encrypted save from the Discord bot.
- Replace the original save files on your USB drive with these new encrypted files.
Copy Save to PS4:
- Plug the USB back into your PS4.
- Go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data on USB Storage Device > Copy to System Storage.
- Copy the modified save file back to your PS4.

Now your PS4 will load the modified save, which triggers the jailbreak payload when you start the game!
